Socorro EHS/Head Start

Centrally located within New Mexico, the MWNMCAP Socorro Head Start has been a part of the Socorro community for more than 30 years.  Serving over 100 students annually, Socorro Head Start has consistently provided quality services to children, families, and the community.

Currently a  3-star accredited Head Start and Early Head Start program, reflecting our commitment to excellence and high-quality early childhood education.

We provide services starting as early as 6 months up to 5 years of age. Our program is entirely free for eligible families and includes comprehensive services such as:

  • Early learning and development, promoting school readiness and cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
  • Health services, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, and behavioral screenings.
  • Nutritional support with free breakfast, lunch, and healthy snacks.
  • Family partnership and well-being services, offering parent and family support, assistance in reaching family goals, and fostering strong family involvement.
  • Disability services, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Mental health services, supporting children's mental health and helping families understand and address their child's mental health needs.

Our belief is that students success is based on parents/guardians who are engaged with their children’s education as their child’s primary educators.

We create a warming and welcoming experience for children and families.

We WORK with CARE and foster learning through play.
